Jim Aparo R.I.P.

Gil posted this Comics entry at 01:38 PM on July 19, 2005

I've collected comic books for over 20 years now. I guess that's long enough to see some of my favorite comic artists I grew up with begin to pass away.

First Jack Kirby, John Buscema, Gil Kane. There are others I'm sure. Today Jim Aparo who drew most of the Batman comics I grew I reading in the late 80's and 90's. You'll be missed. Condolences to the Aparo family.

I started enjoying Jim Aparo's work in The Brave and The Bold while attending Susan Miller Dorsey High School in Los Angeles, Ca.
When I enlisted in the United States Navy, I continued to collect Jim Aparo's work until the issue discontinued. Still at Comicons I search for back issues to have the entire volume.
I hope he excepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior before he departed this world.
Big Fan,
